Summer

It is such a convenience owning a spa. Having your own luxury tub in your own backyard which you can use all to yourself to cool down on those hot days or unwind after a long day. No more pool and spa memberships or awkward conversations with strangers. It is just important to correctly maintain your spa in these hotter months, so it is always it clean, healthy, and safe to enjoy.

Reduce the filtration system time by 1/3 or run the filter only in the cooler times of the day – this will prevent your motor on the filter from overheating and failing.

Remove the cover or at least open it up slightly to allow airflow in the against the water to water keep cool. Be mindful not to keep your cover off, open in the middle of the day or for long periods of time as the UV will damage the internals of your spa and may lead to some unwanted animals in the spa. If the water is not as cool as you would prefer you can remove some water and refill with fresh water from the tap.

Winter

A spa in winter is one of the best items to own! To be able to sit in your own backyard on a cool winter’s day, in the spa, relaxing. It really can not get much better than that. The best way to keep the spa ready for use in winter is to utilise the cover as much as possible. The benefit from using the cover is your spa will stay warm, this will also help with the power bill associated with running costs of the heater. The cleanliness of the spa will improve and so will the stability of the water quality.

General

Regular maintenance on the spa is beneficial for the overall life of the spa but also for the health of the users. Upkeep the water level of the spa, if the water levels get to low it can be catastrophic to the filtration system. Always remember during wintertime the water levels in the spa will be consistently dropping due to the evaporation from the heater, be mindful to refill often.

Keep the filter on a regular cycle, keeping the water moving will prevent any unwanted growth on the surface of the spa. Regular filter cleaning is a must every 4-8 weeks and the filter will require replacement every 1-2 years.

If any growth starts to build up in the spa, firstly check the water quality, this should be a routine task every 2 weeks, either at a pool/spa shop or home test. However, if build up or issues with the spa is noticed have the water tested more frequently. After the water has been tested and rectified any issues with the water from the test, simply wipe the spas internal surface with a soft cloth, use a net to remove any floating debris and pick up the debris which has gone to the bottom of the spa. It is very helpful to use a battery powered vacuum to remove the debris from the bottom.
